I Am Thinking About Running a 5K, Am I Crazy?

Believe it or not before I became pregnant with my 2nd child I was very close to a full six pack of abs, a 4 1/2 pack to be precise. Yes it is true I would not lie to you. It was one of the few moments in my life that I was actually proud of my body. SO proud I like to brag, however, I feel like grandma sitting in the rocking chair screaming “back in my day”…blah, blah, blah.
Getting and maintaining that body was a real work out…literally!
I would be at the gym every morning before work. My routine was very consistent, I would drop my son off at school and head straight for the gym. After an hour work out I would shower and then head straight to work. Monday through Friday. Then I became pregnant and paranoid. My fist pregnancy was a struggle, therefore with my second pregnancy I was classified as high risk, which made the gym the least of my concerns.
It has now been 5 years since I have been in a gym. Needless to say I am far from that six pack today and on the other side of the w…

Heaven Sent Messages

I am always amazed with all the pics that float around the web capturing the unique smiley faces. I often wonder why I don't ever seen them outside the web.
Well the other day after I posted "My Little Pity Party" I was coming out of church am my son almost stepped on this leaf
I know believe that the reason I don't see these things is because I am not suppose to......these pics are pics of unique messages. Messages that are Heaven Sent.

Cleaning House.....Not so Much

It's been a while since I posted a book review and the reason is I have been struggling with this latest book. Being a member of Blogging for Books I am sent a book per my request to read and review. Well I just can't stand to give a bad review. I have never had to give a bad review. In fact when the review isn't so good I make sure I find a least 3 goods things about wither the book or at least the author.

The truth is this would have been a great read had I read it through the authors blog(if she has on) because this is a simple example of a person experiment she tried on her children. It took almost 3 chapters to explain how self centered and unappreciated her children were. Needless to say I wasn't impressed from the very beginning. Yet I kept picking the book up....only to put it down seconds later.
I love the fact that she was able to quote scripture in order to get her points accross, that is one thing I can learn from this book. It just wasn't what I was exp…

Homemade Chalk Paint

This is the best idea by far that I have gotten off Pinterest!!
My children become bored with new things and even more bored with practical play toys. (this is why we don't blow our money on expensive action figures) So I try my best to come up with clever inexpensive ideas to keep them occupied....even if they are a little messy, because having boys means the messier the better!
Seems food coloring + water + cornstarch = loads of fun!!
Just take all 3 ingredients, a little at a time, (no measuring here) keep it in a liquefied state.....too much cornstarch will give you Gak.

Throw in a few paint brushes

and watch the artistic creations begin;

You can also add your concoction to spray bottles to become even more creative.

Their First Baseball Game

We belong to a fabulous connect group at our church and are delighted when we get a chance to hang out with them outside our Sunday school room.
This outing was a first for us not just for the fellowship but because our boys had never been to a Baseball game.
Yes I know totally un-American!
But it was perfect timing. I grew up loving baseball and played fast pitch softball for several years. I was mortified when my son told me he was not interested in the sport what so ever. Needless to say we did a little dragging to get him here. However he loved it when it was over and has been begging to go back ever since.
Wonder if there is a future Braves player in my house???
Here is our night in pictures;

I can't forget to tell you about seeing Side Walk Profits in concert that night as well. They now have a new fan club ;-)

Genius Organization

This summer I took a vow to make it the best and concentrate more on my children than the house, to listen to them instead of drama, to rely on their laughter instead of schedules and that is exactly what I did.
Then I looked around and realized how bad I neglected my house. Yet instead of scrubbing it from floor to ceiling I took a day to utilize my clutter and create different organizing techniques.
This idea I loved so much I wanted to share it with you right away.
My hubs gets irritated every night when I, politely, remind him to remove the pillows out of the shams before using them.
This idea he loved as well ;-)
Rather than using my pillow shams for pillows I opted to use them as storage. Storage for those nice comfy blankets we just don't use in the summer. Like so;

For the record not I did NOT get this off Pinterest! and believe it or not there are time where I amaze even myself ;-)
